Kirstine Postma is a UK trained Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years of clinical and professional experience. She provides psychological assessment and interventions for a wide variety of difficulties, including post-traumatic stress, anxiety and mood disorders and certain personality disorders. She has had formal training in CBT, DBT, IPT and MBSR. She offers Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and EMDR, as well as several other evidence-based therapies, such as Interpersonal Therapy (IPT).

Ms Postma has several years’ experience teaching and training clinicians of various backgrounds in CBT, when employed in a leading role in the UK National Health Service. She provided supervision to Postgraduate Diploma candidates in cognitive behavioural therapy, as well as to therapists in the UK IAPT (Improving Access to Psychological Therapies) program. She supervised clinical psychology Doctoral students in both the UK and Canada. In Ottawa, Ms Postma has taught several courses of Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). She is now looking forward to offering a range of interesting and exciting mindfulness courses for the general public.

Ms Postma achieved full registration as a Psychologist with the British Psychological Society in 2001 and with the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology on her arrival there in 2011. She is currently registered with the UK Health and Care Professions Council and with the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO). Ms Postma was an accredited CBT therapist with the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Therapists from 2003 to 2014 and has been a certified CBT therapist with the Canadian Association of CBT since 2012. She is also a certified in EMDR with EMDRIA.
